John Henderson

Licensed Immigration Adviser

John joined Pathways to New Zealand® in January 2022 and very shortly after became a provisionally Licensed Immigration Adviser. John completed his Graduate Diploma in New Zealand Immigration Advice in December 2022, gaining the Top Student Award for the highest total mark across all courses within the academic programme (and being awarded the annual Pathways® Top Student prize!). John gained his full licence as an Immigration Adviser in May 2024.

Prior to entering the immigration industry, John was a secondary school teacher in Wellington and Queenstown where he taught Spanish, French, Accounting and Business Studies. These subjects reflect his interests in culture, communication, and administration. His most recent teaching experience, as a Head of Learning Area (Languages) at Wakatipu High School in Queenstown, opened his eyes to the needs of migrant communities in New Zealand and stimulated his interest in becoming an immigration adviser.

John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Spanish and French) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Management) degree from the University of Auckland in 2013. He spent almost a year in Chile as part of his studies, and has travelled to South America on various occasions for volunteer work, studies, and to visit friends.

John loves travel and seeking out new experiences. He is currently based in France and working remotely for Pathways®.
