Ha Vo

Ha joined Pathways to New Zealand in 2026 as an Immigration Adviser (Trainee) and is excited to be helping migrants, students, employers, and families navigate New Zealand's immigration system. She is currently completing the Graduate Diploma in New Zealand Immigration Advice (GDNZIA) and awaiting her Provisional IAA Immigration Adviser Licence.

Originally from Vietnam, Ha arrived in New Zealand as an international student in 2013. Having experienced the challenges and opportunities of studying, working, and settling permanently in a new country herself, she understands first-hand many of the questions, processes and challenges facing migrants throughout their immigration journey.

After graduating from Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, Ha spent five years working in the University's International Office, supporting international students, managing international partnerships, and assisting overseas delegations. During this time she was selected to represent the University in an international staff exchange programme at the Warsaw School of Economics in Poland.

Ha later moved into human resource and employment advisory roles with the Department of Conservation and the Hutt City Council. In these positions she worked in highly regulated environments, supporting recruitment, employment relations, employer accreditation, migrant worker onboarding, compliance, and risk management. This experience has given her a strong understanding of the practical challenges faced by both employers and migrant employees in New Zealand.

Drawn back to her passion for supporting migrants and international students, Ha began studying the GDNZIA in 2025 and joined Pathways midway through her studies and is now part of our Wellington team where she is now actively building, and applying, her expertise in immigration law and practice.

Ha is fluent in both Vietnamese and English, allowing her to assist clients in either language. Outside work, she is a keen tennis player and can often be found on the courts around Wellington competing in local interclub competitions.
