This is a permanent full-time position within the mental health and addictions service. Clinical services are delivered by a full multidisciplinary team including: Psychiatrists, Medical Officers, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Nurses and Social Workers.
You will provide addiction medicine services district wide to consumers with alcohol and drug dependency; particularly those with significant co-existing health disorders or opioid dependency. You will also contribute your addiction medicine expertise to the wider mental health team to develop the capacity of services to provide quality treatment to individuals having both substance use disorders and other significant mental health disorders.
We are encouraging applications from a broad range of medical practitioners, with specialist training and experience in addictions practice, for this pivotal role supporting an integration programme.

You will be an experienced clinician with expertise in assessing and managing the medical complications of addictive disorders, and implementing a range of treatments in addiction environments.

Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience and expertise in Addiction Medicine
Hold post graduate specialist qualifications and registration in Addiction Medicine
Be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.

Health New Zealand has a Collective Employment Agreement in place across all their Districts offering :
Annual leave: 6 weeks
CME Allowance and Leave - $16,000/2 weeks
$185,000 - $268,000 Base salary + allowances for job size, on call and availability.
