Consultant Psychiatrist - Drug & Alcohol

An exciting opportunity to join this adult community Mental Health and Additions team. This role will provide general specialist mental health services, with a specific portfolio in specialist addictions psychiatry. Additional to this leading a small opioid substitute therapy aid team. The role is based inside an adult community mental health service, with some oversight working alongside the inpatient consultant psychiatrist as required.

The role will work collaboratively with non-governmental organisations. Providing clinical wisdom and leadership.

Location
Located in central North Island this health board serves a population of 110,000. The town is set on its namesake lake and is renowned for its geothermal activity and Maori culture. There are in fact 17 lakes in the area making an outdoor paradise for fishing, watersports, biking and hiking through the stunning forests.

Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience and expertise in Psychiatry and Addictions
Hold post graduate specialist qualifications and registration in Psychiatry
Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate and vocational scope of Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.

Health New Zealand has a Collective Employment Agreement in place across all their Districts offering :
Annual leave: 6 weeks
CME Allowance and Leave - $16,000/2 weeks
$185,000 - $268,000 Base salary + allowances for job size, on call and availability.
