Our preferred candidate is expert in psychiatry for the elderly and has experiences working with diverse teams. The position works across the whole community, including outreach into specialist aged care providers. The role also works alongside our inpatient Consultant in providing expertise to the small inpatient service facility.
This role has an on-call component (1:6) and benefits from a unique recruitment and retention bonus (20%) for the suitable candidate.
Location
Located in central North Island this health board serves a population of 110,000. The town is set on its namesake lake and is renowned for its geothermal activity and Maori culture. There are in fact 17 lakes in the area making an outdoor paradise for fishing, watersports, biking and hiking through the stunning forests. Whilst inland, the beautiful east coast beaches are not too far away, nor the mountains and ski fields for those thrill seekers.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience and expertise in Older Persons Psychiatry
Hold post graduate specialist qualifications and registration in Psychiatry
Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate and vocational scope of Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.

Annual leave: 6 weeks
CME Allowance and Leave - $16,000/2 weeks
$185,000 - $268,000 Base salary + allowances for job size, on call and availability.
