Sam joined the Pathways team in July 2022 and became a Licensed Immigration Adviser (Provisional) in August 2022. She is currently completing her studies toward the Graduate Diploma in New Zealand Immigration Advice which she will complete in mid 2023.

After arriving in New Zealand in 1995, for a three-month holiday, she fell in love with Aotearoa and navigated her pathway to citizenship over several years. She remains very proud of her New Zealand passport. Immediately prior to her holiday, she worked for a couple of years as a graduate engineer on offshore platforms in the North Sea.

Her exciting and varied 30-year career in project management and business consulting covered several industries, in 10 countries, across 5 continents. Sam’s interest in working in Immigration comes from enjoying working in a multicultural environments as well as her own experiences of the challenges and complexities of immigration for herself and her family. She is excited to help individuals realise their New Zealand dreams and assist companies enhance their human capability.

Sam has been a subsea engineer, skydiver (with 600 jumps), controls manager, personal trainer, ambulance officer, triathlete, marathoner, and property renovator (5 complete and working on her next in Raglan). When weather permits, Sam and her husband Dave, love boating and exploring the islands of the Hauraki Gulf. Sam loves cooking, entertaining and is always planning her next adventure.
